Treasuring God's Word, Kristin Conner

I was raised in a Christian home and came to know the Lord when I was a teenager. Although I had a desire to pursue the Lord, it became difficult to follow Him as I grew older. After a few years of wondering and searching for meaning, I turned back to God and began meeting with some fellow Christian students on the University of Texas at Austin campus. My faith and love for the Lord was rekindled and I reconsecrated my life to Him.

After graduating from UT, I came to the Full-Time Training (FTTA). I had already built a solid foundation for my Christian life, but I knew that I needed to go on to higher and deeper experiences of Christ. I sensed my lack in the knowledge and application of the truth contained in the Bible. Although I had appreciated God's Word in college, It was not until I came to the FTTA that my love and hunger for it really blossomed.

Many of our class discussions and assignments were based upon the writings of Witness Lee. It is through this ministry that the Bible has been opened to me in a marvelous way. The more I read Witness Lee, the more I loved the Bible; the more I studied the Bible, the more I understood Witness Lee's teachings. It was in this way, in the light of the truth, that my seeking of the Lord became more real. My personal relationship with Him was no longer based solely on my feelings, but more on the divine facts in God's Word. My faith became strengthened and my daily life became more filled with light, joy and peace.

I have truly discovered that the Word of God is nourishing, liberating and satisfying. Because of the FTTA, I have now acquired a habit of laying hold of the truth in the Bible every day. I look to the Lord that He would strengthen such a practice within me for the rest of my days.
